A pesquisa tamb\u00e9m aborda aspectos hist\u00f3ricos da comunica\u00e7\u00e3o cient\u00edfica, o desenvolvimento da Ci\u00eancia da Informa\u00e7\u00e3o no Brasil, a emerg\u00eancia dos peri\u00f3dicos eletr\u00f4nicos e os desafios da ci\u00eancia aberta, incluindo a revis\u00e3o por pares e os crit\u00e9rios de avalia\u00e7\u00e3o da produ\u00e7\u00e3o cient\u00edfica.
